Herb Brokering and I both agree that the essence of this piece expresses our dual thanks to God for the life and ministry of Walter Bouman as a servant of Christ's church. We discussed the contents at length and both noted that the text strongly "captures" what Walt's life and ministry were all about. Upon the completion of this work, we both felt that this piece would be a fitting tribute to the life and work of our dear friend and colleague. The original hymn tune, composed as the basis of the piece, bears the name BOUMAN to further honor our departed friend.
