A useful collection of congregational song accompaniments for piano
and optional solo instrument. Eight for Eighty-Eight is designed for
someone who leads assembly singing from either the piano or the
organ. David Cherwien selected hymntunes which are idiomatic to the
piano, and provided introductions as well as creative accompaniments.
The obligato descants are suited to the average-level
instrumentalist. Hymntunes include: Blott en Dag; Carol of Hope;
Shaker Hymn; Living God; Tif in Veldele; A la ru; Spirit; and O Waly
Waly.
