This jubilant text, which emphasizes the work we Christians are called to do for the sake of the world, alternates between Spanish and English, but the text is short so singers need to learn only a few phrases in each language. The vibrant rhythms are enhanced by the singers' clapping and optional rhythm instruments.

Composer Commentary

"A trio of churches in the Philadelphia area asked me to write a piece they could use in their individual parishes and as the finale of their joint children and youth choir festival. I had already been a big fan of this wonderful song, as found in Evangelical Lutheran Worship, and I love how it summarizes our calling as Christians. Singing it in both languages stretches the worldview of those who sing it and those who hear it. Having the human body (clapping, stamping) as the primary rhythm instrument further emphasizes what we can do ". . . with hands to serve and give. . . " I hope you find it an effective means of celebrating and spreading the good news."
