God Who Watches Over Me

God Who Watches Over Me

Robyn Lensch has provided an original text and folk-like melody with a Celtic flavor. Mark Shepperd has arranged it for soloist, choir, and keyboard with optional flute, guitar, bass, and hand drum. The lyric tells about God's watchful care throughout our lives; the parts are easy to learn.

Composer Commentary

This piece was arranged at the request of its composer, Robyn Lensch. Robyn is a prolific singer and songwriter of Christian songs as well as a personal friend. I tried to capture the character of her original solo recording which can be found on her CD titled We Believe ( I think "God Who Watches Over Me" translated well from a solo song to a choral piece. I love the lyric and the imagery of God as our shepherd who is always watching and caring for us, throughout our lifetime. I'm sure this is a piece choirs will enjoy singing.
