Witness

For nearly two decades, Witness has been one of the most trusted names in Sunday school curriculum, setting the standard of quality for Sunday school throughout the country. With its fresh, easy-to-use format, Witness shows both leaders and learners how to "Learn from the Bible to Live the Good News." Join the thousands of congregations who know, grow, and share their faith with Witness.

Why does Witness Work?
  • Witness Is Engaging for Learners
Witness helps learners grow to be disciples and share their faith with the world. Witness builds learners' understanding of the salvation story with different age-appropriate Bible stories each week so they receive a rich survey of God's word through interesting and engaging art, music, and activities.
  • Witness Is Easy for Leaders
Planning for Witness lessons is quick and easy. The Teacher Guide provides everything teachers need, with no additional training required. Volunteer leaders can easily follow lesson plans exactly, or they can be more creative in their presentations with plenty of options for each session.
  • Witness Is Flexible
To simplify ordering and accommodate Sunday school programs that start early, we've made Witness a two-semester program. Each semester contains 15 regular, 60-minute sessions plus five Bonus Sessions. These bonus sessions offer theme-based learning opportunities in a more flexible format, focusing on Jesus' Teachings, Old Testament/New Testament Connections, exploring outside the classroom, seasonal preparations, and worship.
Witness Sunday school curriculum teaches kids to "Learn from the Bible to Live the Good News." Witness Goals: Know, Grow, Show Every Witness session is easy to use and has three goals - know, grow, and show - that carry out the theme and broaden both teachers' and learners' understanding of the story. These goals help everyone remember what it means to be a witness in the world. A witness is someone who:
  • KNOWS the Word
  • GROWS in Faith, and
  • SHOWS Service
Witness Is:
  • Biblical: based on a strong biblical foundation
  • Mission-oriented: dedicated to the mission to "Learn from the Bible to Live the Good News"
  • Salvation story focused: Committed to teaching the salvation story each year within a complete two year cycle (Year Red and Year Blue) of well-loved Bible stories
  • Age-appropriate: Focused on presenting the Bible stories in a way that engages learners appropriately for their age
Faith Traits
Each session relates one Faith Trait to a Bible character and provides one or more activities that develop the trait in learners -- during the Sunday school session and at home.

Faith Traits are:
  • Generosity, kindness, humility, compassion, empathy, respect, and thankfulness,
    • which flow out of the gift of love
  • Cooperation, loyalty, obedience, boldness, and reverence,
    • which are born in trust
  • Responsibility, self-discipline, perseverance, forgiveness, justice, and wisdom,
    • which come with courage
  • Harmony, stewardship, patience, peace, and joy,
    • which shine forth from hope
