Arts & Online Resources
The Bible is full of stories, accounts, and images that draw on all the senses. Exploration through the arts ignites the imagination, expanding our learning about and experience of the Holy. In Seasons, the arts invite us to listen and experience faith through our imagination, allowing familiar scripture stories to break open in new ways.
Music Resources
Like visual arts, literature and drama, music encourages children, youth, and adults to enter into scripture with imagination. Music is written into each session as a means of learning, worship, and ritual. Volume 5 begins with Advent 2005/06. Printed music is included with Congregational Life and all age levels (except Birth – Age 2). Music CDs and songbooks are available as an additional purchase.
Posters
Images are carefully chosen to reflect the mood and themes of each season. The art invites learners and leaders to respond to the Bible stories in deep and meaningful ways. Sessions engage with the images in creative and inspiring ways. Six full-color, full size posters (16-1/2" x 21-1/2") are included with each age level (except Birth – Age 2). Posters are also available in sets as an additional purchase.
Behold: Arts for the Church Year
Behold is a quarterly arts devotional available as an additional purchase. Thorugh a diverse and beautiful collection of images, writings, and scripture, Behold accompanies users through each session of the church year. This resource is perfect for study groups and families, and makes a beautiful gift!
Online Resources
The Seasons web site www.spiritseasons.com offers enrichment for all ages with supplemental activities, resources, program and leader support. You will find downloadable material to be shared with the whole congregation, such as From Start to Finish and articles from Congregational Life.
