About the Author
Howard W. Stone, Ph.D., is a psychologist, marriage and family therapist, a pastoral counselor, the author or editor of many books and professor emeritus at Texas Christian University. Among his many influential books are Depression and Hope: New Insights for Pastoral Counseling (live link to this book in our AFP website). Stone has suffered from depression himself, and he continues to cope with it using many of the methods provided in this book.
