Wyant Morton

Biography

Wyant Morton is Professor of Music, Director of Choral and Vocal Music, and Chairman of the Music Department at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks where he joined the faculty in 1992. In addition to his primary responsibility of overseeing the work of the CLU Choir, Morton conducts all of the choral ensembles in the Music Department, teaches conducting and supervises the voice faculty. In May of 2001, he was voted Professor of the Year—an honor that he covets.

Off campus, Morton maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator. He has been very active as a church musician serving congregations in Arizona, Indiana and California. Additionally, Morton recently completed his tenure as Music Director and Conductor of the Ojai Camerata, a chamber vocal ensemble based in Ojai, CA.
