** Session Descriptions
Handbell Repertoire and Technique Workshop:
In addition to presenting new repertoire and exploring handbell techniques, the session will explore meaningful ways to integrate handbells throughout the worship service. Two new resources for bells in worship will be presented, including hymn accompaniments, calls to worship, prayers, scripture readings and responses.
Beyond Sunday Worship
What’s new for those services outside of normal Sunday morning? We will look at tools, ideas, and some rich new resources for evening and midweek prayer services, including Holden Prayer Around the Cross and its musical companion Singing Our Prayer, plus amazing treasuries of music and worship helps for the services of Lent and the Three Days. Bring new life to those worship opportunities!
Piano and Organ Accompaniment in Various Styles: Are you interested in exploring wys to invigorate worship from the piano or organ? Join Wayne and Keith as they demonstrate and discuss a variety of ways and styles in which to accompany using the piano or organ.
Heart and Soul in the Choir Room: Nurturing Spirituality
Is your church choir a musical ensemble, a worship leader, a social circle, a support group, a class, a teacher, a prayer circle, a service club, a treasure-trove of rich opportunities? The answer is YES. Wayne L. Wold, author of Tune My Heart to Sing, Preaching to the Choir, and the new Soli Deo Gloria, helps us discover the many faces and facets of the church choir and explore its important role in the life of the congregation
Using Music Technology in the Worship Service
This session will explore various ways to use music technology to enhance worship while performing live on the keyboard or with the choir, and how congregations might use technology to create a praise band that can be used during contemporary services. Additionally, learn how to give the experience of traditional orchestral and handbell accompaniments when those resources are not available.
